OnePlus 7 Pro is confirmed to have 5G net and a much better display

[Update  (11/5/19]
The OnePlus is gearing up to launch the next series of devices in its portfolio. For the first time, OnePlus is tipped to launch more than one device at the same event. We have seen renders of the OnePlus 7 surface earlier, which were then reported to be of the OnePlus 7 Pro variant instead as renders of the standard OnePlus 7 followed along. Leaks have also mentioned the existence of a third device, the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, which as the name implied, would be the phone with 5G support.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has now confirmed to the The Verge that the OnePlus 7 Pro will feature 5G and a significant display upgrade with a display that is “super-smooth and very crisp.” This piece of information builds upon the rumored Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with a high refresh rate of 90Hz, but it clubs together the OnePlus 7 Pro and rumored OnePlus 7 Pro 5G into one single variant.
The rest of The Verge‘s article builds upon this information with further conjecture. Since the information is reportedly from the CEO himself, it carries significantly more weight than the leaks. There is a possibility that there may have been a difference in interpretation — after all, it makes more sense to separate 5G into its separate variant as companies like Samsung have done with their flagship devices. This way, consumers who do not want to pay a premium for 5G features that they do not foresee using can still utilize a premium device with other significant upgrades and a lower price tag. If 5G is indeed a standard feature on the OnePlus 7 Pro, the pricing of the device is expected to easily match that of premium flagships from other OEMs.
With all of the information available right now, it would not be too far-fetched to guess that the OnePlus 7 Pro will come with a price bump, thanks to the 5G support. Hopefully, the standard OnePlus 7 remains closer in pricing to previous flagships, so that users can enjoy the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC at a relatively lower price tag.

Update 1: 90Hz Refresh Rate Confirmed

In typical OnePlus fashion, another major detail of the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro has been confirmed via a teaser. This time, however, the company hasn’t confirmed the detail through their own social media channels; OnePlus sent out teaser packets to journalists, confirming the display size and refresh rate.

Matt Swider, Senior Editor for TechRadar, received this teaser in the mail:

The third image confirms the OnePlus 7 Pro will have a 6.67-inch display measured diagonally, while the second image confirms that the display supports a 90Hz refresh rate. Once the device launches in 3 days, it’ll be the first smartphone in the U.S. after the two Razer Phones to have a high refresh rate display.
Since we last published this article, OnePlus has confirmed additional details about the 7 Pro. Here they are:
